Grand Reopening Night Friday, Jan. 31st from 7 30 p.m. Fontana Recording Stars of '' Thank Your Lucky Stars '' Frank Kelly And The Hunters.
The Whiskey A GoGo Disco Club was at The Higher Broughton Assembly Rooms, 300 Great Cheetham Street, Salford 7, Cheshire and opened on Saturday, April 28, 1962.
Singer Elkie Brooks (b. Elaine Bookbinder, Sunday, February 25, 1945, 1 Castleton Road, Broughton, Salford, Lancashire, England) used to play here with The Dave Ellis Group.
It later became The Disc A GoGo Club which opened on Saturday, September 26, 1964 with The Pretty Things.
