BDH

BDH agency was run by a Lady by the name of JOAN DAVEY, she used to work for Granada TV, as what, I'm not sure. TONY YORKE went into partnership with her as well.

I worked for the agency when I was with a 3-piece band called "THE MERSEY THREE" the bass player was JIMMY CLARK from Wavertree Liverpool, Rhythm guitar was EDDY KING also from Liverpool & yours truly on lead guitar. We were based in PETERLEE, Co. Durham because in those days, the North-east was where the work was.

We STILL did a hell of a lot of gigs in the Manchester & Liverpool area.
AAAHHH ! Great days.

I was in a duo called Strange Brew, and Joan Davy and Tony Yorke over the years booked us a great deal of work, including summer season in Blackpool. B D H Agency, one of the founding partners was the daughter of a multi millionaire trailer manufacturer. When Joan split from B D H she took us on as both our personal manager and agent, what a fantastic woman she was, before joining Granada Television she was the press officer for A T V television in Manchester. She worked alongside the newspaper mogul Eddie Shah when he was just a cameraman. When in those days people would say they had a black book of phone numbers, well she truly did. Joan let me read it many times at her home in Timperely, she could and did call many many times in front of me anybody up including Tom Jones, Englebert Humperdinck Matt Monroe Bruce Forsyth and every comedian you could name plus anyone else who was a name in the business, including T V producers such as the Delfonts and Johny Hamp. She was also best friends with Lee Hazlewood in America and they spoke on the phone frequently. Joan earned me quite a lot of money over the years and she was one of the nicest most genuine people i have ever met in my life and very sadly missed.
