Hiller Brothers

My brother(Tony) and myself (Irving)were a double act known as The Hiller brothers.

We worked as an act in most of the cabaret clubs,hotels and music venues in and around london, we also worked in France and Germany in Aamerican bases.

At the same time we were song pluggers in Denmark Street (Tin Pan Alley) - busy boys.

We were asked if we would like to work Manchester, we said yes. 

Our first dates were The Cabaret club (Bill Benny) trebling with the Devonshire and the Levenshulme - this was the early 60s.

We fell in love with Manchester. The next time we went was for Bill Kerfoot - The Princess Theatre Club doubling with Ginger Chilton's Luxor Club.

My brother and I eventually parted company good friends as we are today.

Tony went on to become a well known songwriter and record producer. It would take a book to tell you all his successes, it's easier to Google Tony Hiller.

Shortly after that I got a call from bill kerfoot saying he was opening a club called The Ponderosa and would I like to manage and compere it for him, I said yes and asked when is it opening , he said in about 5 weeks time but come up whenever you want. I was up 2 days later .

I changed my name to Danny Miller. I saw The Ponderosa being built and and worked there till the day it closed . There is a lot more to tell.
