JB4 (South Manchester)
This was a group playing from 1960 through to 1965 in and around South Manchester. The members were:
Line-up
Pete Dudley - Vocals and Rhythm Guitar
John Bromley - Lead Guitar
David Howard - Bass Guitar
John Howard - Drums
The JB4 were named after John Bromley as when we formed only he played the guitar. Peter and I soon learnt and we became very popular with the local youth clubs mainly covering the Shadows.
We could not afford sheet music but acquired records and spent hours working on the keys and the melodies.
After the group broke up I went to play with 2 other local groups The Sneakers and The Nomads. My brother John eventually went solo. Not heard from either Pete Dudley or John Bromley. Would love to know if they are still around. I now play for pleasure either by myself or with the singer from the Nomads Ian McGinty. I changed from Bass to Rhythm during the 70,s and take great pleasure in disappearing to my music room a couple of times a week.
