Soul Purpose

Soul Purpose were formed around 1967 in Didsbury.

They were a covers group formed by Ian Wilson and Chris Lee who later became the basis of Greasy Bear. They rehearsed at St. James' Church in Didsbury.

Covers included the Beatles song "Sargeant Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band" and Ike and Tina Turners "River Deep Mountain High." Ian Wilson later formed Sad Cafe with Paul Young of The Toggery Five and Chris Lee formed Alberto Y Los Trios Paranoias.
