T-Shirt HBR

Second attempt number Two; by courtesy of working email (long story). Fifty-five years since aforementioned retail outlook , pre-Bezzo's and Afflecks Palace, opened (October 1970). it begs the question; Is anybody else from that era still alive or am i the only survivor?
Yes my man - it certainly is! Just found your email (without your email address shown). I have replied. Do you want to send me your phone number or more likely are you going to tell me what to do with this request? Smiley face not available for inclusion!
Ah Zenon. I just sent a mail and I suspect you haven't received it because of its length.
Both Ken Hensley and Lee Kerslake (Respectively keyboards and drums) of Uriah Heep died this year. Of the classic line-up, only Mick Box remains. I remember Gary Thain's dark blue Fender Precision sliding across the stage at the FTH gig. I would have given my right arm for that Fender, in which case it would have been of no use.
I was at Barton Square for 18 months for your information, El Zeno. I was ready to quit JM; only the new job kept me there. I need a new email address as I've had one or two issues in the past. Will communicate soon.
T-Shirt HBR Guess what. My latest comment, within the past hour, hasn't been accepted. Probably has something to do with what I said about the current incumbents of 35 Oldham St not showing their appreciation of our pioneer efforts in bring the modern world to them fifty years ago. Did they celebrate the opening event last week? No, they didn't!
PS: Can you contact me on my still-existent phone and email details. tried phoning and emailing you with no success. And what's happened to the smiley faces/emoticons?
I should have remembered this in the previous communique. Next week marks the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Guys and Dolls store at 35 Oldham St, Manchester 4. Doesn't remotely seem fifty years since that chaotic opening day. I can't recall the exact date which was a Thursday, I think, around the 19th October. I could well be off the mark but there's no forgetting that first week. Singer Lulu performed the opening ceremony. I have no idea whether Afflecks (current occupiers of the site) will acknowledge this in some way; likely they won't. If any of the survivors (yes, even the school-leavers newly employed by JM at that time are 65 now) are reading this then perhaps you might contribute to the forum. The old one did become a bit overloaded. Take care, and for those early staff members no longer with us, we might spare a thought or two.
Steps back in amazement, no less! Not been able to access this forum since, erm, the last time. HBT is till alive I see. I hope everybody from John Michael Ltd still living is OK. Hope also to hear from the survivors of Barton Square and Oldham St. I see that the Greater Manchester Council has still not had the decency to erect a bronze memorial with carefully crafted representations of all the individuals that worked there, in St Anne's Square. What's wrong with these people? Makes you wonder what we pay our council taxes for!

Hot Buttered Toast.
