Bothy Folksong Club (Southport)

The Bothy Folksong Club commenced at The Railway Hotel, 146 Chapel Street, Southport, Cheshire and opened on Sunday, April 1965 with the four-piece Bothy Folk Group from 8pm.

The Bothy Folksong Club had originally opened on Monday, November 23, 1964 at The Cattle Market (Walkers), Prescot Road, Stanley, Liverpool. The resident singers were Stan Ambrose, Dave Boardman, Chris Jones and Tony Wilson, who became The Bothy Folk Group. The resident guests were Hilary and Joan.

On Sunday, September 5, 1965 The Bothy Folksong Club reopened at The Blundell Arms, 34 Upper Aughton Road, Birkdale, Southport from 8pm.

Advertised in The Liverpool Echo and Evening Express of Saturday, September 4, 1965 as
Bothy Folksong Club Blundell Arms, Birkdale, re-opens September 5, 8 p.m.
