Plaza Ballroom (St Helens)

The Plaza Ballroom was at 130 Duke Street, St. Helens, Lancashire and opened in 1956.

Originally, the Plaza Ballroom had opened on Saturday, October 12, 1912 as The Oxford Picturedrome.

On Monday, June 25, 1962 saw the re-opening of The Plaza Ballroom with The Beatles and The Big Three from 7.30pm to 11pm. This was another important booking for The Beatles, as it was the first time for Whetstone Entertainment that ran two other ballrooms in the Merseyside area, The Orrell Park, Orrell Park, Liverpool 9 and The Riverpark Ballroom, Union Street, Chester, Cheshire.
