I remember going on Friday nights 1976 till around 1981.  Amazing place.  I loved the Spotlight part at the end of the night.  Sometimes got chosen to carry the tray of prizes with a male member of staff.  The couple the spotlight landed on at the end of the song chose a prize from the tray.  Music was fab.  Always remember skating to Dancing Queen by Abba.  Wonderful memories.  So sad the building burned down.  The wood floor and facilities were fabulous.  Lovely area to put on your boots, I remember red velvety seats and nice carpeted areas.  There was a bar upstairs. Wish I could go back in time to experience it once more.

Went there with Gordon Stansfield every Saturday morning for a couple of years around 1970. Couldn't dance. Still can't.  But loved the races. A few sharp elbows !!
